§ 10-111. Facilities.

  • An authorized and licensed shelter must have sufficient caging, equipment and facilities:

    (1)

    For observation of animals in bite situations arising within the unincorporated areas of the County or injury by dangerous dogs as defined by F.S. ch. 767; and

    (2)

    For the collection, apprehension, caging, and maintenance pending disposition of at-large, stray, diseased, injured, or unwanted animals, or animals in violation of either state statute or county ordinance; and

    (3)

    To provide reasonable first aid as appropriate to alleviate suffering of any sick, diseased or injured animal, including euthanasia, as provided for in F.S. §§ 828.05 and 828.058; and

    (4)

    To comply with the minimum national SPCA or Humane Society standards or such other standard as may be adopted by resolution of the board of county commissioners.
