The provisions of these zoning regulations shall govern the number, size, location,
and character of all signs which may be permitted as a main or accessory use. No signs
shall be erected or permitted in any location except in conformity with these zoning
regulations.
Increased numbers and size of signs, as well as certain types of lighting, distract
the attention of motorists and interfere with traffic safety. Indiscriminate erection
and maintenance of signs seriously detracts from the enjoyment and pleasure in the
natural scenic beauty of the county and, in turn, injuriously affects the economic
well-being of the citizenry. It is intended to provide for the regulation of types,
sizes, locations, and character of signs in relation to the identification of various
uses and activities on premises, to provide for certain types, sizes, locations, and
character of off-site signs.
