§ 54-235. Collection of ad valorem taxes for the Okeechobee County Municipal Service Taxing Unit for law enforcement.

  • The above-referenced ad valorem tax shall be levied and collected in the manner provided for the levy and collection of Okeechobee County ad valorem taxes. The board shall certify annually to the property appraiser of Okeechobee County the millage to be levied in Okeechobee County in the Okeechobee County Municipal Service Taxing Unit for law enforcement. Taxes collected shall be remitted by the tax collector to the office of the clerk of the court, who shall be the ex-officio clerk and treasurer for the municipal service taxing unit. All funds received from said ad valorem tax shall be separately accounted for with respect to other Okeechobee County funds.
