§ 29-26. 911 service fee.

  • (a)

    Pursuant to F.S. § 365.171, there is hereby imposed a "911" fee to be paid by the local exchange subscribers within the county served by the "911" service.

    (b)

    The fee described in subsection (a) above shall be at the rate of $0.50 per month, per line, with a maximum of 25 access lines per account bill rendered.

    (c)

    The "911" fee shall not be assessed on any pay telephone within the county.

    (d)

    Proceeds from the "911" fee shall be used only for "911" expenditures as set forth in F.S. § 365.171(13)(a)6.

    (e)

    All fees collected by the telephone company pursuant to this section shall be returned to the county less the cost of administration retained pursuant to F.S. § 365.171(13)(c).

    (f)

    The county administrator shall provide written notice to the telephone company of the imposition of the "911" fee as provided in F.S. § 365.171.
