Article II. STATE OF EMERGENCY |
Division 1. GENERALLY |
§ 26-26. Waiver of certain procedures and formalities.
Upon declaration of a state of local emergency declared by the board of county commissioners or such other designee as may be provided for by this Code or emergency declared by the governor of the state, and pursuant to F.S. § 252.38, the county hereby waives the procedures and formalities, including bidding procedures, otherwise required of political subdivisions by law pertaining to:
(1)
Performing of public work, taking whatever action is necessary to ensure the health, safety and welfare of the community;
(2)
Entering into contracts;
(3)
Incurring obligations;
(4)
Employment of permanent and temporary workers;
(5)
Utilization of volunteer workers;
(6)
Rental of equipment;
(7)
Acquisition and distribution with or without compensation of supplies, materials, and facilities; and
(8)
Appropriation and expenditure of public funds.
